The best part of LEGO Batman 2027 rumours isn't a Batmobile

The new LEGO Batman rumours for 2027 are mostly filled with Batmobiles, but the best part is the return of a rare DC vehicle last depicted a decade ago.

Two LEGO Batman sets are rumoured for January 2027, including the $59.99 67008 Batman Returns Batmobile vs The Duck. The rumour names both the Batmobile and The Penguin's transportation of choice from Batman Returns. The Batman Returns Batmobile is a familiar vehicle in LEGO DC, but The Duck has been more elusive in recent years.

The Duck has never been directly recreated, but several duck-shaped vehicles driven by The Penguin have been seen across LEGO DC. The last appearances of a duck-shaped transport was in two 2017 models.

Since these vehicles are not based directly on Batman Returns, the closest model to the in-movie appearance is the build in The LEGO Batman Movie's 70909 Batcave Break-In. It's not quite an exact recreation, though, and this makes the rumoured 67008 Batman Returns Batmobile vs The Duck that much more exciting.

The chances of getting a fully accurate LEGO recreation of this quirky Batman vehicle are higher than ever, though it remains a rumour. From the coloured and patterned wheels to the pie-eyed pupils, 67008 Batman Returns Batmobile vs The Duck has some big shoes to fill, based on the reported name.

We'll have to wait and see whether the January 2027 rumours are accurate, for now. Hopefully, The Duck is finally being recreated accurately after various inspired vehicles in LEGO DC. Here's a reminder of what is currently rumoured for Batman next year.
